The day started hectic and beauty focused. My gf Ash came to my house so we could start our adventure to LA early. We loaded the car up, and after a quicky car accident, we were on our way to La La Land. With snacks and kombucha in hand, we set forth on our Tommyland bound adventure.
After the 2 hour drive, Ash and I were ready to get out, pee, and shoot with one of my favorite photographers in LA Emilynn Rose. We decided to shoot in the venice canals, which was a perfect and calm start to the hectic evening that awaited.
After shooting, we rushed to the Venice boardwalk because we couldn’t wait a second longer to see the spectacle Tommy Hilfiger and Gigi Hadid had put on. If it was anything like the production put on the Chelsea piers in NY during the last NYFW, we could expect a full Tommyland experience.
From the entrance, TommyXGigi did not disappoint. From the gigantic Tommyland sign to the equally as big adult slide, Ash and I were ready to get our carnival on. As we walked in the gates, fueled by bongo drums and the sight of a pop of shop stacked with the new collection, we didn’t know where to go first.
We decided to check out the new collection that would be strutting down the runway in a mere hour. The collection didn’t disappoint. From the color block 2 piece set to the bomber jackets, every piece was divine. I had to hold myself, and my wallet, back from purchasing everything. But I am glad I did…
In the next turn we found a vintage Tommy set up with everything throwback Hilfiger. I snagged the sickest woven turtleneck with the Tommy insignia on the front. It was the best score of the day.
After a little more perusing of the grounds, some photo booth action, and some free TommyX Gigi lollipops, we set up camp for the show. We were in the perfect spot right in front of the stage and the end of the runway.
The show was incredible. From the biggest models of the world including Joan Smalls, Bella Hadid, and of course Gigi walking the runway, the looks they styled were Americana to the nth degree. If I thought I wanted the collection when it was simply hanging on the hanger, now seeing it styled perfectly and walking through the Venice fog I wanted it all even more.
After the show commenced, Tommy and Gigi got on stage to close the show and introduce Fergie! The crowd bum rushed to the stage to watch Fergie put on the most lit show of her career. She killed it and played for about an hour. I have new respect for Fergilicious and her MILF money.
All in all, Tommy Hilfiger is killing the game when it comes to his new collection and taking American fashion to the masses. Ash and I had an amazing time and by the end of the day, we slowly poured ourselves into our car to make the trek back to San Diego. One In-and-Out stop later and our day was perfect.

Thank you for reading! It was seriously like luck of the draw. Tommy did a great thing this year by the public being able to sign up to attend the show and if you got your request in quick enough, you received an invite. GENIUS. Hopefully more West Coast designers will do this.
