As we age, we get more confident with ourselves and our choices. Figuring out how we like our coffee or what we want out of a partner come easier as we garner more life experience. The same should be said with our style. The more and more we figure we out who we are as people, the easier it is to define our style.

This has become a little trickier as I get bigger and bigger with my pregnancy. The clothes that I used to rock definitely aren’t working the way they used to so re-inventing my pregnancy style without giving up who I am at the core has been my #struggle.

I have never been the person who dresses for other people and have discovered that figuring out how to dress for nobody has kept me… well me. The same stays true through this pregnancy. Case in point rocking a crop top over my huge belly. Would you normally see a preggo lady rocking a crop top? Probably not. Does that mean I’m not going to rock one? Probably not. But figuring out how to rock that crop top and staying true to my own style, while not looking like I’m not supposed to be at a Van Halen concert has been my goal.

To wear a silhouette that is inherently not pregnancy attire, I decided to keep it covered in the rest of the look. Picking a long sleeve crop top and pairing it with a discreet pair of velvet overalls allowed for just a peek of belly. Finishing off the outfit with a tailored faux-suede bomber and cut out booties keeps the outfit polished and chic.

Now in saying all of this, be sure to prepare yourself for the looks that would end up in the back of an US Magazine in “Fashion Police”. For me taking risks, whether preganant or not, keeps me true to my style and only dressing for myself.
