The Statement Jacket Styled and Disturbed

If you know me, then you know I loooooove a good statement jacket. I literally have a whole separate closet for all of my “extra AF” jackets and am running out of room for all the statement-ness that’s happening. That’s why I decided to do this post and share some lust-worthie statement jackets of the moment.

A statement jacket can make or break a look. Whether it’s a leopard cropped moment or a plaid trench, pairing the perfect outerwear accoutrement is vital. For me it’s all about mixing prints.  I love mixing leopard with plaid, small polka dots prints with larger ones, and  florals with stripes.

Mixing prints or adding depth to an outfit with a statement jacket can be done by anyone. The only tips that I give to someone who wants to try and create a show stopping look is to make the statement jacket the star. Not saying that you have to dumb down the rest of your look, but make sure that the jacket is the highlight. An analogy would be if your jacket is the star of the show, then the outfit would be it’s understudy… when the jacket leaves, the outfit has to be just as good to play the part.

A great inspirational example of statement jacket being put to good use is the queen of aspirational dressing, Blair Eadie Bee of Atlantic-Pacific. Blair does an incredible job of balancing the statement jacket with polished looks. She is a Pinterest lovers dream for outfit #inspo.
